Marbella Reunion April 2008

The 3^rd Alumni Reunion of 2008 took place last Wednesday the 30^thof April, here on Campus.

A cocktail followed by a lavish dinner had been prepared for what was to be a memorable evening.

Little by little, Alumni from almost every generation started to appear and gather in the Student Club for a tasty aperitif. Impatiently waiting for everyone and welcoming them upon their arrival where Ms. Marco and Mr & Mrs. Strauss.

While waiting for the rest to arrive (punctuality is not an issue when you don´t have points to be deducted) laughter, pictures hugs and kisses filled the Student Club. Everybody suddenly disappeared from the room. Where did they go? Oh, yes, Les Roches Marbella is a non smoking campus now, so the reunion seemed to be taking place outside!

When almost everybody was here, we were asked to proceed to the garden for the group photo, the garden that some of us never saw, or where some of us enjoyed the sun, some of us celebrated the “back to the beat parties” and for the most recent graduates, where the putting green is!

Dinner was ready and everybody sat down at the tables that the F&B Service department prepared.

After a touching speech from Ms. Marco dinner was served.

Menu:

Terrine of Duck and Honey and Rosemary scented wild berry sauce

Strawberry and Champagne Delight

Sole Paupiette with seafood mousse, fresh vegetables with a minted pea coulis

Stuffed leg of lamb with polenta and caramelized onions, light mustard sauce

White chocolate mousse

Following a wonderful meal prepared by the kitchen team, we all headed out to SMALL WORLD CAFÉ where hosts Alistair Imrie, Victor Krensler, John Small and Leo Vega treated us to a brilliant after party.

One thing there sure wasn´t, was a lack of drinks. From beer to champagne to long drinks and even excellent cocktail such as mojitos and caipirinhas, everybody relaxed, enjoyed and specially remembered what the Les Roches party atmosphere was like! I think I speak for everyone when I say that “Good times never die!”

More Alumni showed up just for drinks as the alumni together with the current students blended in a sea of fun that most people I’m sure would envy!

It was an important night for the Alumni Association, a night were some of us got to re-live the Les Roches experience but also a night where important industry contacts have been made, remember that this industry is about who you know, and at this rate, that important or decisive person that you should know,…what do you know? …Is from Les Roches. So please stay in touch and please send us signs of life, wherever you are in the world!
